These images
were taken from newspapers and cuttings from the
scrap book of Wendy Dyer (nee Comins). Wendy was a
young girl witnessing the Exeter Blitz of 4th - 5th
May 1942 and painstakingly saved these images for
future generations. Unfortunately in most cases the
dates of the newspapers and editorial are missing
from the images, but we have supplied any
information which was is available at the time of
posting. We intend to add to this information and
invite people to e-mail us any additional comments
or information they may have over the coming months,
so we can update the website over the next year. We
would also like to add more images of Exeter during
the war years to this website and would be
interested to hear from any one who would be willing
to let us copy photographs from the era.
We have no
idea if the original photographs exist but we wanted to
make sure people could see the images.
